track.easterbunny.cc (Version 1)
track.easterbunny.cc Version 1 (also known as Custom EBT 2018) is the precursor to track.easterbunny.cc. It’s a custom Easter Bunny Tracker that I hacked up a month before my first Easter Bunny Tracker live stream. I couldn’t find a good tracker to fit my needs, so alas, I made my own.
I call this project track.easterbunny.cc Version 1 as it set in motion what would eventually become track.easterbunny.cc v3 and beyond. Some of the ideas and assets from this Custom EBT would end up being used in track.easterbunny.cc.

There’s a lot going on in this image - a quick explanation.
The plugin used for this tracker was Geo Mashup, which added geolocations to WordPress posts, and then displayed those WordPress posts on a map. I had two categories - current stop and previous stops. The map focused on the current stop, and a script in the background changed all other stops to previous stops with different iconography.
Most stops outlined what time the EB would arrive at the next stop. For the stop in the first screenshot, I must of forgotten to do that. I sourced my data from TheCPTrackers using the Web Archive, since it went down just before Easter, and I planned to use this site on my stream.
If this tracker didn’t go down right before Easter 2018, I don’t think track.easterbunny.cc would exist the way it does today.
One thing that did stick from Version 1 of track.easterbunny.cc (if you can call it that) was the iconography. The icons used here are the same icons still being used today, which is pretty cool.
These are the only three screenshots of the 2018 Custom EBT that I have. I usually do timelapses of the tracker runs - and as such have tens of thousands of screenshots for track.easterbunny.cc. I decided against a timelapse here because of the refreshing, and that the timelapse might not look great because of such.
